The Manfrotto 244 Variable Friction Magic Arm is a fully articulated arm with 90° pivotable and 360° rotatable ends, and an elbow that rotates 360°. The knob allows partial loosening for safe and precise positioning of a light head or camera. It has 5/8” studs on ball joints at both ends with 3/8 and 1/4” female threads. Although it is supplied with a camera platform, it requires a Super Clamp or Base (available separately) for use.

William ★★★★★

Dialing in the exact tension with the knob is a game-changer for keeping my speedlight exactly where I want it without any creep. The arm feels incredibly solid and the 360° rotation at the elbow gives me so much flexibility for tricky angles around my desk.

Aurora P. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this arm to hold a small LED panel for product shots, and the variable friction knob makes it a breeze to adjust without the head drooping. The elbow rotation gives me angles I couldn’t get with my old spring arm.

Harper L. ★★★★☆

The knob gives great control over tension, though it took a bit of fiddling to get the balance right for my camera. Once set, the arm holds position solidly without any drift.
