Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR: Professional Speed, Travel Size
The Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR is the professional-grade standard zoom for Z-mount cameras with APS-C (DX) sensors. It expertly balances speed and portability, providing a versatile 24 to 75mm full-frame equivalent field of view in a remarkably lightweight and compact body.
This lens is the ideal tool for travel, street photography, portraiture, and various scenarios, giving you a strong imaging capability without the bulk.
Key Performance Features
Constant f/2.8 Aperture: The bright f/2.8 maximum aperture is maintained across the entire zoom range. This ensures consistent exposure control, reliable low-light performance, and excellent control over depth of field for smooth background separation.
4.5-Stop Vibration Reduction (VR): Built-in VR provides up to 4.5 stops of stabilization, allowing for dramatically sharper handheld shots and steadier video footage.
Fast, Quiet STM AF: The Stepping Motor (STM) autofocus system delivers fast, precise, and quiet operation, making it suitable for both high-speed stills and video recording.
Minimized Focus Breathing: A static angle of view helps to minimize focus breathing, which supports more natural-looking video capture.
Design and Handling
Ultra-Compact Build: Weighing just 11.6oz and measuring 3.5″ long, this lens is designed for daily carry without compromising performance.
Close-Up Capability: The lens features an intimate minimum focusing distance of 5.9″ at the wide end, enabling detailed close-up imagery with beautiful background blur.
Customizable Control Ring: A user-assignable control ring supports smooth, tactile adjustment of settings such as aperture, ISO, or exposure.
Smooth Bokeh: A 9-blade rounded iris produces distinct, smooth, and circular bokeh quality.
