The ProMaster MPV428+ Monopod is a great solution for both videography and still photography. Its retractable base incorporates a ball joint with tension lock to provide smooth, easy movements. It has three points of contact for great stability on a variety of surfaces. The base is also removable, allowing the MPV428+ to convert to a traditional monopod with single, rubber foot. The innovative PROlocks allow for quick opening and powerful closing of the monopod sections with one hand.

Emma ★★★★★

The ball joint’s tension lock is the reason I picked this over cheaper sticks—it holds my camera steady at awkward angles without drifting, and the retractable base flips out fast when I need a low shot. Works just as well for a quick video pan as it does for a sharp still, so I’ve stopped carrying

Henry ★★★★★

The retractable base with the ball joint makes it incredibly easy to switch between video and still shots without having to reposition everything. I've been using it for my outdoor shoots, and the tension lock keeps the monopod stable even on uneven ground.

Eva ★★★★☆

The retractable base with the ball joint makes panning for video feel much smoother than my old fixed-head monopod. I just wish the twist lock for tension was a bit easier to adjust one-handed in the field.
