The SmallRig 4183B Camera Cage is a lightweight, formfitting aluminum cage meticulously designed to protect your Sony FX3 or FX30 cinema camera while providing extensive mounting options for accessories. This updated 4183B version includes a lighter PC and fiber HDMI cable clamp to prevent accidental disconnections.

Secure Fit & Unrestricted Access
Your camera mounts securely to the cage via 1/4″-20 screws on both the bottom and side, effectively preventing any twisting. Rubber padding on the base further protects your camera from scratches. Crucially, the cage’s precise design ensures full access to all camera controls, buttons, and ports, allowing you to operate your FX3 or FX30 without obstruction.

Extensive Mounting & Gimbal Compatibility
This versatile cage is packed with mounting points to customize your setup:

A shoe mount

A removable NATO rail (note: this rail must be removed if you’re using the original Sony XLR handle)

Numerous 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 accessory threads

ARRI-style accessory mounts to prevent accessories from twisting

For quick transitions, the cage features an integrated Arca-style base, allowing direct mounting onto standard Arca-Swiss tripod heads and gimbals. You’ll also find strap slots on either side for attaching a camera strap, and a built-in screwdriver on the bottom ensures you always have the tool needed to secure your camera.
