Sony DVF-EL1 Electronic Viewfinder for FX5
Dedicated 0.58″ 7.08m-Dot OLED EVF – DCI-P3 Color Spectrum, 90-Degree Vertical Tilt & Reversible Eyecup Design

The Sony DVF-EL1 Electronic Viewfinder is a dedicated, high-resolution eye-level monitoring solution engineered specifically for the Sony FX5 Cinema Camera. Outfitted with a 0.58-inch OLED panel boasting an extraordinary 7.08-million-dot resolution and 0.90x magnification, this detachable viewfinder delivers crisp, precise focus and exposure assessment in high-glare outdoor environments and bright studio setups.

Designed to mount directly to the top of the FX5 body via a dedicated proprietary port, the DVF-EL1 locks securely in place using two 1/4″-20 mounting screws. The OLED panel covers a wide color gamut equivalent to DCI-P3 with 10-bit color depth and HDR monitoring support for accurate signal evaluation. For operational ergonomics, the viewfinder tilts vertically up to 90 degrees, features a detachable/reversible eyecup for left- or right-eye shooting, and offers two display modes—Standard and Zoom Out—to ensure maximum edge-to-edge frame visibility, even for operators wearing glasses.

Andrew ★★★★★

The tilt mechanism feels solid and locks into place perfectly, which is great for low-angle shooting. Colors through the OLED are vibrant and true to life, making manual focus much easier than I expected.

Andrew ★★★★★

The OLED display is incredibly crisp and the colors look spot-on for my work. Being able to tilt it 90 degrees makes framing low-angle shots much easier without straining my neck.

Eli ★★★★★

Switching between shooting modes feels instant, and the DCI-P3 color coverage means what I see in the EVF matches my final footage almost perfectly. The reversible eyecup is a godsend for left-eye shooters like me, too.
