Tamron 17-50mm f/4 Di III VXD Lens: Versatile Zoom for Photo and Video
The Tamron 17-50mm f/4 Di III VXD Lens is a unique and versatile zoom designed for both video and photography. Its focal length range begins at an ultra-wide 17mm, perfect for expansive fields of view, interiors, architectural subjects, and even vlogging at arm’s length. The range extends to a normal 50mm, ideal for portraits and tighter perspectives of everyday scenes. This flexible range is supported by a constant f/4 maximum aperture, which prioritizes portability, making this an ideal walkaround lens.

Impressive Close-Up Capabilities and Seamless Handling
This lens offers impressive close-up performance with a minimum focusing distance of just 7.5″ at the wide end and 11.8″ at the long end, allowing you to work with nearby subjects in detail.

The lens design is optimized for multimedia use, featuring a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor for quick and quiet autofocus performance. It also boasts an internal zoom and internal focus design, meaning the overall length of the lens doesn’t change during use. This provides more intuitive handling and makes it easy to balance when working with a gimbal stabilizer.

Durable Design and Customizable Performance
In terms of physical design, the 17-50mm features a moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element, making cleaning simple and straightforward. It uses common 67mm filters, just like most other Tamron mirrorless lenses, offering convenience for users with multiple Tamron lenses. Additionally, it’s compatible with the Tamron Lens Utility software, allowing you to fine-tune lens performance to suit your specific shooting needs.
