The Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD is a sleek and exceptionally versatile ultra-telephoto zoom lens designed for Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It’s an ideal choice for capturing a diverse range of subjects, including stunning landscapes, elusive wildlife, fast-paced sports, and compelling portraiture. With an impressive 8x zoom ratio starting at 50mm, this remarkably compact and portable lens maintains a length of just 7.2″, similar to conventional 100-400mm zoom lenses, making it perfect for travel and everyday use.

Incredible Close-Up Capabilities
Beyond its powerful ultra-telephoto reach, this lens is also incredibly well-suited for macro photography. With a minimum focusing distance of just 9.8″ at the 50mm end, the 50-400mm offers up to one-half life-size magnification for dynamic close-up shooting, adding another layer of remarkable usability to your photography.

Fast Autofocus and Advanced Stabilization
The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism delivers fast, quiet, and precise autofocus, ensuring you capture sharp images of even rapidly moving subjects. The VC (Vibration Compensation) system effectively reduces camera shake, facilitating sharper handheld shooting at longer focal lengths and slower shutter speeds.

Updatable and User-Friendly Design
To ensure you stay up-to-date and can customize your lens for maximum performance, it features a USB Type-C connector port for Tamron Lens Utility software. This allows you to easily customize functions and update the firmware directly from your computer.

The lens is designed for intuitive handling, featuring a rapid zoom ring for swift focal length changes and a zoom lock switch to prevent accidental extension. It’s compatible with many camera-specific features and functions, including Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF. Its moisture-resistant design and fluorine coating on the front element effectively repel dust, water droplets, fingerprints, and dirt, ensuring durability in various conditions. The convenient 67mm front filter size matches most other Tamron mirrorless lenses, providing greater convenience when using multiple lenses together. For added ease when using a tripod, an optional Arca-type accessory tripod mount is available.
