Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Lens (Sony E)

Introducing the upgraded G2 lens, TAMRON has taken a significant leap in optical technology with several notable enhancements. First and foremost, the new G2 lens now incorporates TAMRON’s exclusive VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism. Remarkably, this advancement allows the lens to maintain its class-leading compact size and lightweight characteristics while providing superior stability for shooting.

The optical design has undergone a thorough overhaul, resulting in uncompromisingly high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. At the wide end, the MOD (Minimum Object Distance) has been substantially reduced to 0.3 meters (11.8 inches), a significant improvement from the previous 0.85 meters (33.5 inches). This adjustment enables photographers to explore unique creative possibilities that are inherent to this exceptional lens.

Furthermore, the new 70-180mm zoom lens incorporates the cutting-edge VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. This technology delivers rapid and precise auto-focusing performance, making it suitable for both still photography and video capture.

To enhance user customization, this lens supports the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility™ and TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile™ apps. These applications enable photographers and videographers to tailor the lens functions according to their specific shooting styles.

In terms of design, the lens has been optimized for improved operability and enhanced scratch resistance. This single lens embodies exceptional maneuverability and practicality, befitting the prestigious G2 designation. It promises a shooting experience that elevates the enjoyment of using a fast-aperture telephoto zoom lens to new heights.
