Bogen Monolite 200B Set of 2 (AS-IS, UNTESTED)

NOTE: This item is being sold AS-IS and may not be returned or exchanged. Item is untested.

The Bogen Monolite 200B Set of 2 consists of two vintage studio flash monolights manufactured by Bowens of London and distributed in the United States under the Bogen Photo Corp brand name. Popular among studio photographers from the 1970s onward, this set gives photographers a matched pair of self-contained flash heads for classic two-light studio setups.

Each 200B unit is a 200 watt-second monolight, an all-in-one flash head that combines the flash tube, power supply, and controls in a single housing, distinguishing it from power-pack-based studio strobe systems that require a separate central generator. The units include a proportional modeling light, a continuous bulb that previews the direction and quality of the flash output before firing, helping photographers gauge lighting placement and shadow direction during setup. Power output on the 200B is adjustable across full and half power settings.

Each light includes a photo slave cell built in, allowing the units to fire in sync with one another (or with an additional flash) without requiring a hardwired connection between every light in a multi-light setup, along with a PC sync socket for connecting a direct sync cord or wireless trigger from the camera. A standard reflector dish is typically included with each head to help shape and direct the light output, and compatible barndoor accessories can be added for further control over spill and beam shape.

Because these are vintage units, often several decades old, photographers should be aware that functional condition, wiring integrity, and the availability of replacement flash tubes and modeling bulbs can vary significantly between individual examples; some listings note that internal wiring should be inspected or rewired before use given the age of the units. Build quality reflects Bowens’ original studio-strobe construction standards from the era, with a durable metal housing designed for repeated professional use.
