DJI Osmo Mobile SE Smartphone Gimbal

The DJI Osmo Mobile SE is a compact 3-axis smartphone gimbal designed to stabilize smartphone video and photo capture, aimed at content creators, vloggers, and everyday users who want smoother, more professional-looking footage from their phone without investing in a dedicated camera stabilizer. It’s positioned within DJI’s Osmo Mobile lineup as an accessible option for stabilized mobile content creation.

At its core, the Osmo Mobile SE uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal system, actively counteracting shake and unwanted movement across pan, tilt, and roll to produce smooth, stabilized footage even while walking, running, or moving the phone quickly. This mechanical stabilization is paired with the DJI Mimo companion app, which unlocks additional shooting modes and creative features beyond what a phone’s native camera app offers on its own.

The gimbal supports ActiveTrack functionality, allowing the device to automatically follow and keep a subject framed in shot as they move, useful for solo content creators filming themselves without needing a second person to operate the camera. Gesture control is also supported, letting users start recording or trigger other functions with hand gestures rather than physically touching the phone or a separate remote, convenient for vlogging and hands-free operation.

Handling centers on a foldable, compact design that collapses down for easy storage and transport, making it practical to carry in a bag or pocket between shoots. The gimbal includes a built-in extension rod, allowing users to extend the phone’s reach for wider selfie angles or higher/lower shooting perspectives without needing a separate selfie stick accessory.

Battery life is designed to support extended shooting sessions away from a charger, with the gimbal charging via USB, and the device mounts a smartphone via a clamp that accommodates a range of phone sizes within DJI’s supported dimensions and weight limits.
