The Sears 80-200mm f/4 Macro is a manual focus telephoto zoom lens produced for Canon’s FD mount film SLR system in a breech-lock configuration, distributed under the Sears house brand during the film SLR era. Covering a focal range from 80mm to 200mm with a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout, it addresses a practical telephoto zoom range well suited to portraiture, wildlife, sports, and general longer-reach photography, with the constant aperture maintaining consistent exposure and depth of field characteristics across the entire zoom range. A macro setting provides closer minimum focusing capability than standard zoom operation allows, extending its versatility for tighter subject work without requiring a dedicated macro lens. The breech-lock mount design is consistent with Canon’s FD system mounting convention, and fully manual operation covers both focus and aperture adjustment directly on the lens. Compatible with Canon FD-mount film SLR bodies, and adaptable to mirrorless and other camera systems via third-party FD mount adapters.
