The Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 GM (G Master) is a high-performance normal-length prime lens engineered for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Combining an ultra-bright f/1.4 maximum aperture with a compact, lightweight body, this prime delivers high optical resolution, edge-to-edge sharpness, and soft background blur for portraiture, street, landscape, and hybrid video production.

Optically, the lens features two Extreme Aspherical (XA) elements and one Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass element to suppress chromatic aberrations, color fringing, field curvature, and spherical distortion. Sony’s Nano AR Coating II is applied to reduce internal reflections, lens flare, and ghosting under harsh lighting. Driven by two XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors, the internal focusing mechanism achieves fast, quiet, and precise autofocus tracking. Dedicated physical controls include an aperture ring with a click/de-click switch, an iris lock switch, two customizable focus hold buttons, Linear Response MF, a fluorine front coating, and comprehensive dust- and moisture-sealed weather construction.

CONDITION DIAGNOSTICS & PHYSICAL NOTES

Front Element Status: LIGHT SCRATCHES ON FRONT ELEMENT. Superficial surface scratches are present on the front glass element; practical test shooting confirms no effect on photo quality, optical clarity, or exposure rendering.

Internal Optics: MINOR INTERNAL DUST. Light internal dust specks are present within the optical housing, which is typical for pre-owned prime lenses and does not impact image capture.

Included & Missing Accessories: INCLUDES CAPS / NO LENS HOOD. Supplied with the front and rear lens caps; the ALC-SH173 dedicated lens hood is not included.

Physical & Mechanical Condition: GOOD CONDITION OVERALL / FULLY FUNCTIONAL. Lens housing and rubberized grip rings exhibit minor handling marks. XD Linear AF motors, aperture ring mechanics, iris lock, and electronic contacts function properly.
