The Vivitar 70-150mm f/3.8 is a manual focus telephoto zoom lens produced for Canon’s FD mount film SLR system. Covering a focal range from 70mm to 150mm with a constant f/3.8 maximum aperture throughout, it addresses a practical short to mid telephoto zoom range well suited to portraiture, event, and general longer-reach photography, with the constant aperture maintaining consistent exposure and depth of field characteristics across the entire zoom range. Fully manual operation covers both focus and aperture adjustment directly on the lens. Vivitar was a well-known third-party lens brand active during the film SLR era, producing a wide range of alternative optics across multiple mount systems at accessible price points. Compatible with Canon FD-mount film SLR bodies, and adaptable to mirrorless and other camera systems via third-party FD mount adapters.
