The way this folds down to just over 15 inches is perfect for tossing in a carry-on without any hassle. I've used it for a few hikes now, and the 11-pound capacity handles my DSLR and zoom lens with no wobble.

The center column's two-stage design gives me just the right height for indoor architectural shots without sacrificing stability. It packs down so small that I've started taking it on casual hikes, and the twist locks feel secure even after months of use.

Even with my heavier DSLR and a 70-200mm lens, the legs felt rock-solid at full height, and the center column's two-stage design gave me just the extra reach I needed. I was honestly surprised how much stability you get from a tripod that folds up smaller than a water bottle.
