The Nikon Zf puts a 24.5MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor and the EXPEED 7
processor inside a retro-styled body with dedicated dials. The back-illuminated
sensor reads out fast and stays clean at raised ISO, and a pixel-shift high
resolution mode combines multiple exposures into a single 96MP image.

Autofocus

Deep-learning subject detection recognizes nine subject types, locking on and
tracking through motion. 3D Tracking handles subjects moving across the frame as
well as toward and away from the camera. Pre-Release Capture records up to 30
JPEGs from a full second before the shutter fires.

Video

  • UHD 4K oversampled from 6K with full pixel readout up to 30p.
  • Full HD up to 120p for slow motion.
  • Internal 10-bit recording in SDR, HLG and N-Log tone modes.

Stabilization

  • Up to 8 stops from the in-body 5-axis sensor-shift system with Z-mount lenses.
  • 3-axis stabilization with adapted F-mount lenses via the optional FTZ Adapter.
  • Focus-point VR, which weights stabilization according to where the active focus point sits.

Body and controls

  • 3.2″ vari-angle touchscreen for playback and live view at awkward angles.
  • Touch Fn — set focus points, pick tracking subjects and change display modes on the screen while your eye is at the viewfinder.
  • Dedicated switch for toggling between color and black-and-white capture.
  • Compatible with the optional MC-N10 Remote Grip and AR-11 Soft Shutter Release.

Included: NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE)

A compact everyday prime with vintage-inspired styling that matches the Zf’s
body. The f/2 aperture handles low light and gives control over depth of field,
and two aspherical elements keep aberrations down. It mounts on FX bodies at 40mm
and on DX bodies at a 60mm equivalent, which makes it a sensible walkaround lens
on either format.

Eli B. ★★★★★

The dedicated dials for shutter speed and ISO make adjusting settings feel much more tactile. It's so fast to respond, and the retro styling draws compliments even from non-photographers.

Abigail ★★★★★

The 24.5MP sensor handles high ISO like a champ—even in dim light, shots stay clean and detailed without me fiddling with settings. The EXPEED 7 processor makes the whole thing feel snappy, and the retro dials are honestly the most fun I've had adjusting exposure in years.

Richard M. ★★★★☆

Shot a wedding reception at ISO 6400 and the files stayed surprisingly clean, which is the whole reason I bought a full-frame body. The dials took a day to get used to, but the 40mm lens is sharp enough that I've barely taken it off.
