Nikon Zf Mirrorless Camera (Black)

The Nikon Zf is a full-frame mirrorless camera that pairs modern imaging performance with a retro-inspired design drawing directly from Nikon’s classic FM and FE-series film SLRs. Aimed at photographers who want the tactile, dial-driven shooting experience of a vintage camera alongside contemporary autofocus, video, and stabilization technology, it occupies a distinctive spot in Nikon’s Z-mount lineup as a stills-and-video hybrid built around heritage styling.

At the core of the Zf is a 24.5MP full-frame backside-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 processor, the same processing engine found in Nikon’s flagship Z9 and Z8 bodies, delivering strong image quality, dynamic range, and fast processing performance. In-body image stabilization (IBIS) is built in, rated to provide several stops of shake correction, helping photographers achieve sharper handheld results across a range of shooting situations, including video work.

Autofocus benefits from Nikon’s advanced subject-detection system, also inherited from the Z9/Z8 generation, providing recognition and tracking for humans, animals, birds, vehicles, and other subject types across a wide portion of the frame. Continuous shooting reaches up to 14fps with the mechanical shutter and higher rates using the electronic shutter, giving the camera solid speed for casual action, street, and event photography despite its heritage-inspired design.

Handling is where the Zf distinguishes itself most clearly, with dedicated top-plate dials for shutter speed, exposure compensation, and ISO, along with a dedicated monochrome mode switch that echoes the simplicity of manual film camera controls while still offering full access to modern digital shooting modes. The camera features a tilting rear touchscreen LCD and a high-resolution electronic viewfinder, along with a metal chassis construction designed to evoke the look and feel of Nikon’s classic film bodies while incorporating weather-resistant sealing for outdoor use.

Video capability includes 4K recording at up to 60p (with a slight crop) and oversampled 4K at lower frame rates, along with Full HD recording at higher frame rates for slow motion, giving the Zf reasonably strong video credentials alongside its stills-focused design. The camera uses Nikon’s Z-mount lens system, giving it access to Nikon’s full range of native Z-mount lenses, along with F-mount lenses via Nikon’s FTZ adapters. Connectivity includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless image transfer and remote camera control via Nikon’s companion app.
