Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E)

Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E
Compact APS-C Portrait Prime – 84mm Full-Frame Equivalent, Ultra-Bright f/1.4 Aperture, Stepping AF Motor & Dust/Splash-Resistant Brass Mount (Includes Front & Rear Caps, Lens Hood)

The Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is an ultra-compact portrait-length prime lens engineered for APS-C format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras (delivering an 84mm full-frame equivalent focal length). Combining an exceptionally bright f/1.4 maximum aperture with a lightweight physical profile, this lens excels in low-light environments while offering fine depth-of-field control and background isolation for portraiture, street photography, and event coverage.

Optically, the lens features a 10-element in 6-group construction that incorporates one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass element and two aspherical elements to suppress chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and spherical distortion. Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes flare and ghosting to preserve contrast and color accuracy under bright or backlit conditions. Autofocus is driven by a smooth, quiet stepping motor optimized for both still photo tracking and video recording. The housing features a rounded 9-blade diaphragm for smooth bokeh, a durable brass bayonet mount, and a rubber sealing gasket for dust and splash resistance.
