Sony a7C Mirrorless Camera (Silver)

The Sony a7C is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a compact, rangefinder-style body, offering the imaging capability of Sony’s a7 III-class sensor in one of the smallest and lightest full-frame camera bodies on the market. It’s aimed at travel, street, and everyday photographers who want full-frame image quality without the bulk of a more traditional SLR-style mirrorless body.

At its core is a 24.2MP full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with Sony’s BIONZ X processor, delivering strong image quality, dynamic range, and low-light performance consistent with Sony’s well-regarded a7 III sensor generation. The camera includes 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS), helping counteract camera shake and enabling sharper handheld shots at slower shutter speeds, an especially valuable feature given the compact body’s reduced grip stability compared to larger full-frame bodies.

Autofocus is handled by Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF system, combining phase-detection and contrast-detection points across a wide portion of the frame, along with real-time Eye AF for both humans and animals and real-time tracking to maintain focus on moving subjects. Continuous shooting tops out at 10fps, giving the camera reasonable speed for casual action and everyday subjects in motion. Video capability includes 4K recording up to 30p with full pixel readout and no pixel binning, along with Full HD recording at higher frame rates for slow motion.

Handling centers on the a7C’s distinctive side-mounted electronic viewfinder, a departure from the traditional center-mounted EVF found on most full-frame mirrorless bodies, along with a fully articulating touchscreen LCD that flips forward for vlogging and self-recording use. The compact magnesium alloy chassis is designed to be weather-resistant, and the camera includes a single SD card slot (UHS-II compatible).

The a7C uses Sony’s E-mount lens system, giving it access to Sony’s full range of native full-frame and APS-C E-mount lenses, along with third-party E-mount options. Connectivity includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless image transfer and remote control via Sony’s companion app, along with a headphone jack and microphone input for video-focused workflows.
