Sony a7R III Mirrorless Camera

Note: Cosmetic wear consistent with prior use, including scuffing near the strap rings.

The a7R III Mirrorless Camera from Sony is a high-resolution full-frame camera built around a 42.4-megapixel back-illuminated sensor, delivering exceptional detail and dynamic range while still maintaining strong all-around performance, a combination that made it a standout choice for landscape, portrait, wedding, and commercial photographers who needed both resolution and versatility in a single body. Unlike many high-resolution cameras of its era that sacrificed speed for detail, the a7R III balances its large megapixel count with genuinely fast performance suited to a wide range of shooting styles.

Autofocus on the a7R III combines 399 phase-detection points with 425 contrast-detection points, covering a large portion of the frame and delivering fast, accurate focusing across a wide range of shooting conditions. The camera is capable of continuous shooting up to 10 frames per second with full autofocus and auto-exposure tracking, an impressive speed for a camera of this resolution, making it capable of handling moderate action and event photography alongside its core strengths in high-detail work. In-body 5-axis image stabilization, rated for meaningful shake correction, helps photographers achieve sharper handheld results, particularly valuable given the resolving power of the sensor, where even minor camera shake can be more visible.

Video capability on the a7R III includes 4K recording with full pixel readout and no pixel binning, oversampled from a wider capture area for exceptional detail and reduced moire, making it a strong hybrid option for photographers who also produce video content. Dual SD card slots, both supporting UHS-II speeds, provide fast, reliable storage for extended shooting sessions, while a significantly improved battery life over its predecessor made the a7R III far more practical for full-day professional use. With its blend of resolution, speed, and reliability, the a7R III remains a well-regarded choice among photographers seeking high-resolution full-frame performance in a versatile mirrorless body.
