Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens

Sony Cyber-shot Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens
Elite Full-Frame Portrait Prime – Well-Used Condition / Fully Functional
The Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA is an iconic, high-performance normal-length prime lens engineered for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Built around the legendary ZEISS Sonnar optical concept, this lens is highly revered for its signature rendering, micro-contrast, and clinical wide-open sharpness.

Its bright f/1.8 maximum aperture offers exceptional shallow depth-of-field control and effortless low-light handheld shooting. Driven by a silent linear autofocus motor inside a dust- and moisture-sealed chassis, it remains a premier choice for street snapshots, candid journalism, and portraits.

Please note: This lens is in cosmetically well-used condition with internal dust, but it functions flawlessly and includes front/rear caps alongside an upgraded third-party metal hood.

Key Features & Optical Architecture
Legendary ZEISS Sonnar Formula: Features an advanced 7-element in 5-group optical blueprint that achieves a bright f/1.8 aperture while optimizing edge-to-edge frame contrast and color fidelity.

ZEISS T Anti-Reflective Coating:* Every glass surface is treated with premium T* multi-coatings to drastically suppress lens flare, ghosting, and internal reflections, yielding rich colors even in harsh backlighting.

Aspherical Element Matrix: Incorporates three aspherical elements (including two double-sided elements) to neutralize field curvature, astigmatism, coma, and structural aberrations.

Silent Linear Autofocus Motor: An internal focusing system driven by a linear AF motor delivers rapid, near-silent, and precise focus acquisition that is fully optimized for eye-tracking still capture and video tracking.

9-Blade Circular Diaphragm: Outfitted with a rounded nine-blade aperture geometry that produces beautifully smooth, round, and creamy background blur (bokeh).

Item Condition & Diagnostic Notes
Mechanical & Autofocus Performance: Fully functional. The linear autofocus tracking system initializes instantly, locking onto subjects with signature speed and accuracy. The manual focus ring turns with proper resistance through its digital throw.

Cosmetic Presentation (Well-Used): The exterior chassis shows clear signs of extensive field wear. There is heavy physical scuffing concentrated around the ribbed metal manual-focus ring, along with multiple mild scuffs and finish wear across the rest of the metal lens body.

Optical State (Internal Dust): The internal glass layout contains scattered small dust particles. Notably, there is one larger dust speck located near the center of an internal element, and another large dust speck resting near the outer edge of an internal element. These particles do not alter image resolution, contrast, or final photographic results under normal shooting conditions.

Included Accessories: Packed with a compatible front lens cap, rear lens cap, and a premium third-party Haoge metal lens hood (replaces the original plastic Sony hood).
