TTArtisan Tilt 50mm f/1.4 Lens for Sony E-Mount
Creative Selective-Focus & Standard Normal Prime – ±8° Tilt Angle Perspective Control, 360° Rotating Mechanism (90° Incremental Detents), Fast f/1.4 Maximum Aperture, Manual Focus & Manual De-Clicked Iris Rings with Cine-Standard Mod 0.8 Follow Focus Gears, Advanced 7-Element / 6-Group Optical Design (2 High Refractive Index Elements), Circular 12-Blade Diaphragm, All-Metal Mechanical Construction, Standard 62mm Filter Thread, Includes Front & Rear Lens Caps (Excellent Condition)

The TTArtisan Tilt 50mm f/1.4 is a creative, dual-purpose perspective-control prime lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras (also fully compatible with APS-C bodies, providing a 75mm equivalent field of view). Unlocking advanced focal plane manipulation traditionally reserved for specialized architectural systems, this lens gives photographers and filmmakers the ability to tilt the focal plane up to 8° in either direction and rotate the barrel mechanism 360° (with 90° incremental detents). This flexibility enables dramatic selective-focus “miniature” dioramas, stylized slivers of focus, and custom Scheimpflug depth alignment where foreground and background remain tack-sharp even at wide apertures. When locked centered at 0° tilt, it functions as a standard, high-performance 50mm normal prime.

Engineered with a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, the lens excels in low ambient light and delivers pronounced subject isolation with painterly background blur, enhanced by an internal 12-blade circular diaphragm for rounded specular bokeh. The optical architecture employs seven elements in six groups, incorporating two high refractive index glass elements to mitigate chromatic aberrations, spherical distortion, and field curvature across the frame. Built with hybrid video production in mind, the rugged all-metal barrel features standard Mod 0.8 cine gearing on both the manual focus and manual aperture rings, allowing seamless integration with follow focus rigs, lens motors, and cinema cages.

CONDITION DIAGNOSTICS & PHYSICAL NOTES

Included Components: Supplied with the TTArtisan Tilt 50mm f/1.4 lens for Sony E-mount, original front snap-on lens cap, and rear bayonet dust cap.

Exterior & Physical Status: EXCELLENT CONDITION. The satin black anodized metal barrel, knurled focus and aperture rings, mechanical tilt locking knobs, rotation release lever, engraved DOF/aperture markings, and metal bayonet mount show minimal signs of light handling.

Optical Status: EXCELLENT CONDITION. Front and rear exterior optical glass surfaces are pristine, clean, and completely free of scratches, scuffs, haze, or fungus. Internal optical elements are clear with no flaws or defects.

Mechanical Status: FULLY FUNCTIONAL. The ±8° tilt mechanism tilts smoothly and locks firmly via the knurled locking knob; the 360° rotation mechanism clicks cleanly into 90° detents; the manual focus ring rotates with smooth, well-damped mechanical resistance; the manual aperture ring actuates cleanly; the circular 12-blade diaphragm functions reliably across all f-stops.

KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS

Dual-Purpose Tilt & Standard Prime: Delivers ±8° of focal-plane tilt for selective-focus miniature effects or extended depth-of-field, functioning as a standard 50mm f/1.4 prime when locked at 0°.

360° Barrel Rotation: Rotates smoothly with click detents every 90°, allowing the tilt plane to be positioned horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Fast f/1.4 Maximum Aperture: Enables shooting in dim lighting conditions and produces wafer-thin depth of field for portrait and detail isolation.

Cine-Ready Follow Focus Gearing: Integrated Mod 0.8 focus and aperture gear rings fit standard cinema follow focus units and motorized lens controls.

Advanced Optical Formulation: Incorporates 2 high refractive index elements within a 7-element, 6-group design to minimize chromatic and geometric aberrations.

Circular 12-Blade Diaphragm: Creates creamy, circular out-of-focus highlights and smooth focus transitions, whether tilted or aligned.

All-Metal Construction: Precision-machined aluminum body and durable brass/metal mount ensure long-term mechanical reliability on set or in the field.

Universal 62mm Filter Thread: Convenient front filter thread allows direct attachment of widely available ND filters, circular polarizers, and special effect filters.

Customer Reviews (5.0 / 5 · 5 reviews)

Daniel I. ★★★★★

The tilt mechanism is surprisingly smooth, and I love being able to dial in exactly ±8° for those miniature-effect shots. Wide open at f/1.4 it’s sharp enough in the center for street candids, which is all I really need.

Harper ★★★★★

The f/1.4 aperture is dreamy for portraits, and the ±8° tilt lets me fake a mini-city look without any post-processing. The 90° detents click solidly when rotating, so I don’t have to fight the barrel mid-shoot.

Christopher ★★★★★

Tilt mechanism works exactly as described—being able to rotate 360° with those satisfying 90° detents makes composing shots feel precise and intuitive.
